The reason it is generally used is because no sign-up is necessary as you can login instantly using your Twitter account. Interesting tool. It picked up many Friendfeed replies on Friendfeed in the comment chain that I did not know exist because Friendfeed by default does not send email when someone reply to you in the comment area.
