On weekends, our Manager on Duty is generally on the ref desk, unless it's me or our circ manager or computer supervisor - I usually work the circ or computer desks. Today, though, I'm on the ref desk for the first time in a year or better. Fun stuff!! - WebGoddess

To clarify: on evenings and weekends, the PIC is the senior Adult services librarian working. However, at any time of any day, if there's a fire or tornado or some other reason to move people, the PIC is the senior adult services librarian on duty at the reference desk when the alarm goes off. - Betsy #TeamMonique

Just helped a young man find a book on calligraphy and Japanese characters. - WebGoddess

Helped an old man find a bio of Mohammed, helped a lady on the phone figure out how long a hold would take to get here, helped a disabled gentleman find motorcycle repair manuals and stood like a guard to let a couple of guys know that I was watching them and that if they started fighting in the library, I was ready to take 'em both down... ;) - WebGoddess

Grabbed a couple of thick reference books to help prop up a lady's laptop computer so she could use it more ergonomically (the irony there...) - WebGoddess

Just used Google Maps to find a convenience store phone number (it was Mari's, not Maury's, so the guy was striking out on his own). He knew it was on a roundabout off of Rangeline in Columbia - so we followed the road on GMaps until we found it! Success!! - WebGoddess
