"Yeah, I did watch Perfume - I really didn't like it! I'm sure the book was
much better.
Yes, the character in that film was definitely a peculiar guy, so much so I
wouldn't want to know him.
Howard Hughes is similarly odd, but at least he dated movie stars..." - Jason Kaneshiro
"Cool, I've already added 28 Weeks Later to my netflix queue (Hulu had some
excerpts, but I'd rather not watch them and spoil the flick. Based on your
description and what I've heard elsewhere, it sounds more "actiony" but
ought to be a decent rental." - Jason Kaneshiro
"Yeah the expectation of free is so prevalent on the 'net. I'm as guilty of that as the next person. Meanwhile I am trying to think of real world businesses that give their product away for free and I can't think of any - save a few free food samples at Costco. Ad supported is the next best thing, like TV channels (but most people pay for cable) and even print magazines and newspapers with tons of ads, you still have to pay for.
If Twitter doesn't go freemium, the other option is probably advertising, or just getting bought by a much larger company with more resources to allow them to continue being free (Google / YouTube) while they figure out an advertising strategy." - Jason Kaneshiro
"I would imagine they would keep the free service but add a second paid tier. Paying a monthly fee could allow for more features or even removing ads that are displayed to free users." - Jason Kaneshiro
"There really should be an opportunity to make money there. Business
models based on addictive substances do wildly well (cigarettes,
liquor, Starbucks). And if folks are really as addicted to Twitter as
they claim, surely they'd be willing to pony up a few bucks a month
which is less than a daily cup of joe." - Jason Kaneshiro
"Seems the girl in the video is not the singer of the song (Inara George), however I just bought two Bird and Bee albums via iTunes. The rest of their stuff is retro 60s electronic lounge stuff = I'm a sucker for. A good example of viral marketing." - Jason Kaneshiro
