Mhm... is the Silverlight installation a good thing to have? haven't installed that or AIR.
- Juan Pablo González
Looks nice and complicated but let's see. Juan, AIR is very nice.

Wow. Was Kyle Lacy involved in this? I ask b/c I suggested HubBub as a a name to him in September for a social app with exactly the same logic given in this article... http://friendfeed.com/e...

Uninstalled. I couldn't get pass the login screen. Clicked the Authorized button probably 50 times, rebooted my PC to see if the Silverlight install might have to do with it and still nothing... so, it's gone.
- Juan Pablo González
have the same problems with the login screen here. about to uninstall it...

not a big fan of it...unistalled it too...should've used Adobe air platform instead of that stupid silverlight!
- Ahmed
Can I just get TweetDeck for Friendfeed already, instead?
- abacab
wow, it's very glitchy for me and I can't move the window around. Why are they using Silverlight 2 instead of WPF for a Windows desktop client? It's not working for me at all. Taskmanager shows 4 instances of the app running as well.
- Alan Le
I also don´t get it - why not WPF? It´s also not working for me. All I se is a javascript alert :(

@Tina followed your link -- congratulations, looks like you just got crowdsourced!
- Micah
wow, that is pretty strange Tina...i'm pretty sure he's not involved though

Quick update for you. First, someone has raised a bug about a missing DLL. That will be fixed tomorrow, and should solve the crash. Second, when logging in, are people using their FF API key? And third, we're getting reports that spam filters are swallowing the sign-up email. Other than that, it's all going well. ;)
- Mark Birbeck
Obviously I don't want to turn this into a discussion about Hubbub bugs, so anyone who has the time to let us know in more detail what the problems are, we'd appreciate it if you went here: http://bit.ly/17AuA Thanks.
- Mark Birbeck
I got no email in my junk filter either.. so I'm left with the options of a) hotmail just swallowed your email and it didn't reach me, b) it failed during transit (since there's no ack with email) or c) it never got sent in the first place.
- alphaxion
@alphaxion Thanks for the information. You are right that Hotmail is rejecting our email well before they get to your mailbox, so you don't even see them in your spam filter. We're just adding the necessary settings to our servers, and hope to have this sorted soon. Thanks again.
- Mark Birbeck
cool.. I've had a couple of things over the years that take issue with hotmail - glad you're sorting it out :)
- alphaxion
@Ahmed: Adobe Air is quite limited...our environment goes much further, allowing HTML, Flash, XForms and XAML to be mixed in one application. @Morten: WPF is not cross-platform, and you can't use the mix of technologies in the way I described, at least not as easily as in our environment. @k00pa and @Leandro: we will definitely be doing a Mac version.
- Mark Birbeck
@Tina: Looks like you followed the same logic as me, to arrive at the name Hubbub. :) I see it is an application that helps you to control the 'din' of information flying at you, from all directions.
