I use DVD Shrink to convert them to ISO's. Then use XBMC for playback to my home theater.

DVD Decrypter + DVD Shrink. There's another program that will control DVD Decrypter to get through newer DVD protection techniques, but I forgot what it was called.

if want to make a DVD backup, it's a bit trickier since everything may not fit on a single layer DVD and newer original DVD's are made in a way that makes it difficult to rip correctly. If the destination is a file, it's much easier.

Ok I found it. Search and download rip4me. Make sure you have DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink installed.

DVD Shrink does the compression. The issue is new DVD protection.. Plus DVD2One isn't free.

Read my friend's blog where he talks about how he's ripped his entire DVD collection to his Windows Media Server for across the network streaming.

Ya it's much easier if you don't need to make a DVD backup

rip4me might not work anymore. Here's a guide from doom9.org. They usually are up to date with current techniques. http://www.doom9.org/index... edit: or not..

OK, so i've got Handbrake doing some nice work, but its taking forever ( and hour and half for a ten minute, bonus add on - i was testing it). Anything Faster??
