It's very fast, makes reorganizing a massive number of feeds quick work, has good Webkit integration. Doesn't crash, or network/memory hog like many other desktop readers do.
- Jason Wehmhoener
the killer feature for me is it's websynch (and iPhone, too) ;)
- dK
i don't know of any rss reader for windows or mac that's better. it's amazingly quick and easily customizable
- Cee Bee
I've just started using this now too. Pretty damn good! Would be nice to be able to sync with Google Reader, but i can live without it.
- Chris Dahl
I think I'm at a point where if it doesn't sync with google reader I can't really use it. Newsgator Online just doesn't compare. Eventbox syncs with greader.
- Jason Wehmhoener
I always said I was going to try 1password. I guess their idea to give the iPhone client away for free was a smart one. I downloaded the iPhone client and almost immediately downloaded the local client.
- Dan
I store all of my passwords in Firefox. I have never found a use for password management software
- Mike Fruchter
Not only do I store all my pw's in firefox, but they are usually all the same thing. Unless it's the bank or something. I think life would go on if somebody hacked my Myspace profile :)
- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
I want to use 1Password for everything, but you can't define your own wallet items, which really stinks. Instead, I use Wallet (url: http://waterfallsw.com/wallet/). Cross-platform clients would be nice, but the only ones I've found are really, really, junky.
- Mark Trapp
I let Firefox hold them for me (using a Master password) but I store them all in Outlook as contacts. Probably not the best method, but it works.
- Shayna
@Aura Mae - yeah the fingerprint readers work well, my computer has one and it's great for logging into windows. The software sucks for web passwords though, but that could be just my system.
- Royce Mathew
KeePass, because I can use the same file on my Windows PCs, my MacBook, and my Windows Mobile phone. It also runs on other systems.

RoboForm and RoboForm2Go. The latter fits on a USB flash drive, encrypts its contents, and works on just about any PC with both IE and Firefox. Worth every penny.
- Ed Bott
i used spash id for phone and desktop untill a fatal crash ruined everything. now its all in firefox or in notes on my phone
- nick
I may need to try KeePass. Works with PC, Mac, Linux and mobiles. Good find, MiniMage; thx!
- Kevin C. Tofel
Another vote for 1Password. Fantastic app.

Anyone who jailbreaks the iPhone can run ssh from within MobileTerminal if they install the OpenSSH package. Not sure what Apple'd say about an actual SSH app though.
- Yanik Magnan
He's not referring to SSHing into the iPhone, but SSHing elsewhere from the iPhone... though the OpenSSH package will still let you do that.
- Yanik Magnan
Would love to see an SSH client in the app store.
- Wes Justice
Sort of indirect but I've used Mocha VNC to get into my machine and then SSH'ed from there. A Native app would be a lot better.
- Jon West
yeah, i meant SSH out from phone into my servers. and without jail braking or using a web app like http://www.gotossh.com/

Good news, but it sure didn't help the stock price of either company.

Dave is of course an overwhelming popular choice for boys, but I was surprised to find that Hitler is also a popular boy’s name. Who knew! - http://www.gpeters.com/names...
I usually get tired of an album after listening to it so much, but Girl Talk's latest is just amazing. Highly recommended if you're at all into remix / mashup stuff.
- Wes Justice
I've got this problem as well, unfortunately. Not sure if it's worth trying to exchange it, as the phone is in good shape otherwise.

Someone the MacRumors forums posted some pics of an iPhone affected with this: http://bit.ly/4gb5Oq ... I'm not so much concerned with the looks, just whether or not this will allow a bunch of dust into the phone. And if so, whether Apple will still exchange it *after* said dust is in there.
- Wes Justice
I un-like this. Pretty sure I'll be waiting this one out before I upgrade.
- Matt Baron
I seem to be in total reboot mode these days. Loved Batman Begins. Loved the new Bond flick. Looking forward to the new Trek movie (feather-soft reboot, from what I understand.) Yep...do overs, ftw!
- Jim Stanger
I can confirm this after trying it between 2 macs and a phone - the desktop side is not immediate, and there are no 'push' options in the .mobileme preferences pane. It's a shame because you can't just enter an appointment on a laptop and then close it without hitting sync without risking it not being uploaded before the machine goes to sleep. Entering on the phone or website works very well though.
- Robin Barooah
Yeah, it's a disappointment for sure. Though if the info in that link is accurate, we'll soon have push functionality for iCal and Address Book on the desktop. Just not Mail, unfortunately.
- Wes Justice
Maybe on a future update, they just released an 1.1 Mobile Me desktop update today, one day after the launch. It makes no sense to have the main app not having this (since iCal and Address Book are more like a 'slave' from Mail)

I like to swim laps although I have never been on a swim team. I seem to get more out of swimming shorter distances a little faster, than swimming longer and slower. It has lower impact than running.
- lloyd
Thanks Lloyd. Wonder how it'll work out for someone hopelessly out of shape. i.e., me. :)
- Wes Justice
I've always found swimming to be difficult, but more so from an "I don't like it when I can't breathe right" standpoint. It works for a lot of people, though. I just don't dig water in my mouth while I'm gasping for air.
- Jason Falls
A lot of pools have private/group lessons available that help w/ getting into swimming. I am thinking of taking some myself to get better.
- lloyd
Thanks, Lloyd. Just checked the local Y, and sure enough, there's a "swimming for fitness" class. Will definitely look into that.

"The replacement for .Mac subscriptions can synchronize mail, calendars, contacts, photos, Safari bookmarks, Dashboard widgets, and more among Macs, the iPhone, and iPod Touch. It lets you stash 20GB of files on Apple's servers, and it even cooperates with Outlook on Windows computers. Plus, MobileMe's online applications would let you check in on all that from any Web browser."
- tech.newsjunk.com
MobileMe is working fine for me on the iPhone side, but the desktop component is still not available via software update. (Apparently it was posted today -- twice -- and taken down after a few minutes.)
- Wes Justice
Iphone side OK for me too - the web based apps are still a bit flaky - has great promise when its fully operational.
- David W
I'm still trying to understand why AT&T has a $45/month Enterprise Data Plan. The AT&T web site makes it sound like this plan is required if you want push email via ActiveSync. But people who have upgraded to the 2.0 software are getting it to work wothout upgrading to an Enterprise Data Plan.
Here's a good blog post related to this. http://timheuer.com/blog... Long story short: You do not need an Enterprise Data Plan to use ActiveSync. AT&T has done a HORRIBLE job of communicating this. It's bordering on deceptive marketing - trying to lure businesses into a more expensive data plan when it's totally unnecessary.
- Mike Doeff
So the enterprise plan gets you zero extra features. Makes me wonder if it only exists to convince more people to sign up for MobileMe.
- Wes Justice
If MobileMe were working this morning, I'd be happier. Authentication servers were offline an hour ago.

My Mac e-mail has been buggy all day. It'll tell me I have messages and double click to open to get a spinning busy-like cursor. I expect this will pass.
- Louis Gray
We've certainly said goodbye to .mac. Looking forward to saying hello to MobileMe. Eventually. :)

“OMG iPhone 2.0 firmware is awesome. Sooooo many toys in the app store. I have to say the apps in app store are MUCH better than any of the jailbroken apps. I'm excited!” - http://friendfeed.com/e...
I got it at the same place but don't know how to install on XP. Tips?
- Grant
3 Grants on one ff post is monumental. So is my newly updated iphone 2.0, bloomberg app gets me giddy and the remote is pretty cool and useful. i see much potential with this whole app store thing!
- grant fox
grant- how did you install. i know for mac you use option key but what about windows
- Grant
@grant: I installed w/my macbook but i think the alt button is the parallel to the option button so give it a try
- grant fox
no option key for me. none of the buttons on the bottom row work
- Grant
aw man I don't have time now but I'm so psyched. so so psyched. any Flickr apps at the AppStore? Gonna check ...
- Marko Bon
Looks like there's a couple Flickr apps.
- Wes Justice
I was comparing the Mobile Flickr app from app store with Hao Chen's jailbroken version and we noticed several missing features, primarily with integration to the phone's camera roll. Is that a app store restriction?
- Matt Baron
FF is too speedy for me, I rarely go for more than 1 page. On my friends page, when I read everything I just refresh it...
- Marcos Marado
sometimes yes, before I subscribe to someone I take a look at his page and what he shares, sometimes the first page doesn't say much about the interests. That usually happens if the first page is full of tweets :) .
- Hassan Ibraheem
Must admit I'll hardly ever look at an individual feed except for when I get the x is following you mails. I'll then check a couple of pages back to see what they get up to.

@Greg -- You need iTunes 7.7 to get Applications. Go to the iTunes store, search for Remote and you will see Applications as a search result in the middle of the page. Click that app and then navigate around in the Applications section. Link to all free apps: http://tinyurl.com/5fv8rs
- Matt Donders
Yep, there are no references to the app store on the front page (yet). Some direct links to app categories and various apps: http://bit.ly/4oYSEG
