You (we) should make it easy on the Ace to recognize how our involvement is turning int $ for them. When we recommend the hotel, make sure they tell an Ace employee why they chose to stay at the Ace. And when we order those $5 hot chocolates, make sure you let them know why your there. If they can translate their involvement or acceptance as a co-working tech friendly hub into 10 new monthly guests and 50 hot chocolates a week, they'll probably be more inclined to maintain a welcoming vibe. "Not sure I agree. You make it seem like the direct traffic is the only reason someone would create a link. Of course page rank is an incentive, and no follow completely removes that incentive. The traffic fire hose is only really relevant on pages with huge amounts of traffic, which are usually the pages that are better maintained and less susceptible to spam in the first place. The articles with bad spam problems are usually the ones that receive less traffic, and therefore less attention from legitimate editors. These pages still receive some page rank, and were the primary problem that I remember on wikipedia prior to the nofollow implementation. I do feel like there ought to be a way to award legitimate links in wikipedia by grading links or editor votes that could upgrade a link." - Will Cole

"It's hard to imagine a model where all professional leagues exclusively go straight to customers with their live content. MLB.TV is a great example of how they can optimize the revenue stream through making previously unavailable content available to out of market customers. However, as Peter mentions, none of this is at expense to the in market viewership. I don't think ESPN will be threatened by the leagues as much on TV, but may find themselves cut out of the equation for distributing live sports content online. "I don't think it's surprising at all that someone who considers himself liberal or progressive finds it objectionable when the government sticks its nose into their area of expertise. Like DonRyan above, I think people generally want to operate absent of intervening powers and be trusted to continue competitive and honest businesses. But if people support interventions by government entities in other industries, I feel it makes it harder to make an argument for why a single industry should be exempt. Personally, I find it odd that these types of actions are viewed as anti-competitive. On the contrary, this is hyper competitiveness. Developers have significant influence in these decisions. As you pointed out, there are alternative platforms to develop for, and the number is growing. Innovation will not happen immediately, but I believe it will happen. FCC oversight into these types of business decisions only complicate matters, and is even a bit insulting." - Will Cole

"I use nearly all of the same apps for the same reasons except for Lighthouse. It was difficult, but getting teams to buy into Pivotal Tracker has been extremely rewarding. It's not the greatest system if you're just using it to do bug tracking, but as a complete product management tool it is fantastic. I've also heard that Github was the best app for Subversion, but I haven't had the time to figure out how it works. How has your experience using Sites been? I've used it basically as a wiki to better document user stories and chores from pivotal tracker. It feels like kind of a work around and I'm interested to see if there is a product better suited for that type of work." - Will Cole

"It does image search really well, and the normal search is almost there, but not quite with Google. Watch out for the travel pages though.
