At least you put the right things in the right place, and didn't try to eat the bra or wear the bagel.

"Scientists have discovered that even after more than 40 years, people can still vividly recall where they were and what they were doing when they first heard the Fab Four’s music. They say it shows that music is one of the most powerful triggers of memory, and Beatles music in particular is more than mere “auditory cheesecake”. The online research was the biggest ever survey into the links between memory and music, and scientists believe its findings will be replicated among millions of other music fans throughout the world."

The first I remember hearing was I Saw Her Standing There and I was dancing with my twin sis. It someone's wedding or something and we must have been 3 or 4.
- Michael W. May
"Get Back" is the first Beatles song I recall. You know that Jo Jo. He is a loner.
- RAPatton
My dad wasn't a big music aficionado. He had two cassette tapes for family road trips--The Beatles and The Beach Boys. I can now sing most of the greatest hits of both bands. The three kids took turns sleeping in the back window. The music piped straight into our ears from the rear speakers and dad wasn't turning it off. Beatles = family road trip for me.
- Shellee
I don't think that was particularly funny. What that kid did was criminal and he should be prosecuted for it. That wasn't Hollywood, he could have killed that boy.
- Michael Tefft
Daaaaayyuuuuuuummm!!! This is why parents should be sure to teach their kids not to be assh*les
- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
Michael - that kid does seem to have some anger management issues. I'm surprised the first kid kept messing around with him.
- Hutch Carpenter
Why do some kids think pantomimed violence is humorous? Future Darwin Award winners and likely red shirt potential. (Ya'll know this is fake right?)
- AJ Kohn
"What that kid did was criminal " which kid ? the first or the second one ?
- Peter Dawson
Well, head seems to never *really* hit the table and the kid's arm is there to cushion it anyway. No blood. No falling off chair. And ... camera happens to be there to capture it all. I don't know, screams 'made for YouTube' to me.
- AJ Kohn
Man, I laughed for one second (lit.) and then I said to myself, that's kinda scary. :o
- Erin McMahon
Peter, if you have to ask that question, I would say you have some serious issues. The first kid was doing what all kids do, it was playing around. What the second kid did was totally out of proportion. If this was not all some staged video.
- Michael Tefft
@Micheal -"The first kid was doing what all kids do, it was playing around." - I really dont know what they do in the school now a days. but I was schooled in a very british style/colonial type eduction system. Goofing around was done on the field and especially not in school premise. Yep, we throw stones and our fist cuffs, but after school hrs .. in the lane behind.. never within school. !
- Peter Dawson
That's not playing. That's taunting and being a bully. Whether it was staged or not. Playing means both people think it's fun. Otherwise it's trying to get a reaction, which he got
- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
If it weren't fake, I'd have a hard time feeling sorry for the initiator and would want to start the prosecutions with him.
- MiniMage TKDteacher of FF
Peter, I agree that this is unacceptable behavior on both children's part. But the response of the second kid was a little more than a fist fight. Hitting someone with something other than your fists is assault with a deadly weapon, a felony.
- Michael Tefft
amusing that some people commenting still think this was real
- Jeff Quinton
It could be real, it could not be, but the discussion is still valid. Have you ever tried to slam someone's head into a table? It's actually kind of hard if you don't set yourself just right and apply enough force. Especially if they have their hands on the table to brace themselves.
- Rahsheen ™, Coach Rah
The second the bully touched the kid on the left, that kid had the right to defend himself. What he did though wasn't defensive. He ended up doing worse than just being shoved. He should have gotten up and moved away. That said, yeah - it's fake.
- Tad
Jeff. What proof do you have that this was not real, other than your expert opinion? Remember the video of the beating the cheerleaders gave to that one girl that was on YouTube. Those girls were all arrested and charged. I'll bet some people thought that was staged too.
- Michael Tefft
Looks like a Georgia vs Russia reenactment...
- tagami
Shit like the comments on that story (at Live Leak) makes me hate social media. Or at least makes me want to impound some folks' computers. What is it about video that brings out the depraved?
- Chris Baskind
there's a whole genre of videos like this on youtube and other sites.... knew a guy who even did a slapstick website with videos - discussion of what it exactly is might be valid - getting all worked up about the violence is pointless since its fake
- Jeff Quinton
Jeff, wrong again. Whether it is fake or not is not the issue. We are discussing what is acceptable behavior and why some people think posting garbage like this is funny. Real or not is not the issue.
- Michael Tefft
We need about 500,000 more kids like the one on the left.
- Rob Sterling
I opted to just go read a book. I'm reading 'The Box'--the history of the shipping container. It's an exciting day :-)
- Andrew Leyden
lazy summer afternoon...time for tea out on the deck!
- Susan Beebe
Loic: I feel the same way to a certain extent. I think that people need variety and some longer form stimulation. I just bought a HARD COVER BOOK on Michelangelo and his subversive work on the Cistine Chapel. Its refreshing to read more than 140 characters at a time. It's all about balance. I don't think that the quality has gone down with online writing as much as after a while it all just seems the same. Online I feel well informed, but give me a good book and I feel like I really learn. old school.
- Scott Lockhart
Funny you said that. I want on unplugged vacations (i.e., no blogs, no social networks, no IM, no mail) for about 2 weeks. It was so good. I needed to flush out my brain.
- fbrunel
When you come back online, you see some things quite differently.
- fbrunel
Rather than information overload, it feels more like information tolerance. Like when you eat nothing but chocolate for a while, and at first it's great but it gets very old very fast. Same thing happens with all things web: getting a new information source resets your palette.
- FFing Enigma (aka Tina)
i find that my own writing is boring, too. focusing on video is helping me find a fresh voice.

According to votes on imdb of course

be sure to go to the bathroom before you get in. You won't want to take a break for nothing. Can't really afford to, you'll miss too much. :)
- Yolanda
Heh sorry for the random images, I was teaching someone my photoshop trick using flickr on how to do some television scan lines, while also hiding certain features that might make it easy to see where the source is.
- Eric Rice
And how fucking embarrassing it takes all this work to HIDE that something was made in SL. Sheesh. If HALO would let me do this kinda shit, I wouldn't have to add stigma-navigation to my workflow, because conceptually, one is cooler than the other. Retarded.
- Eric Rice
edythe! I'm sorry!! Just in case you didn't get it from my own message. I feel awful for giving you a hard time when you were just being ultra sweet.
- Zee.
@moskowitz OMG, Smena 8m ! OMG, I had it when nobody knew about lomography - because it didn't exist ... lol
- A.T.
You guys will have to fight me for the pink one. After all, one of my nicknames is Pinky. It's destined to be mine. All mine!! mwahahahaha...
- Lisa L. Seifert
Love the pink and green bookend effect. The green one almost looks like one of those slide viewers for the slides on the disc. What were those called? Viewmasters-just googled :D
- Mark Forman
Quick little story... I paid $5,000 for my wedding photos and the best shot of the whole day was taken on a $6 dollar camera by my 4 year old nephew...
- Johnny Worthington
Because I LOVE pink! At one point when I had my lovely (dyed) red hair, it turned so light in the sun that it was pretty [in] pink as well. It made me happy. And I seem to wear pink a lot. So, I was deemed Pinky by a few friends.
- Lisa L. Seifert
@silpol all those bubushka optics & awesome marketing by 2 very smart folks - I still use my lomo (1999 version - hard to tell) when I need a different optic feel - care to sell a pre-lomographic version? cheers
- Scott Moskowitz
Lisa: you could dye your hair pink, you know. :)
- edythe
Yeah. I've vowed to not color my hair anymore, though. Chemicals and all that jazz... And extensions are expensive. My hair gets pretty awesome highlights all by itself as long as I'm outside enough.
- Lisa L. Seifert
ooh, extensions. those would be fun to have for a little while.
- edythe
@moskowitz well, if it had survived in my parent house since being buried around 1993 - I could try to find it when I go there around Dec'08 ...
- A.T.
@moskowitz: I still have the one I started using around 1985 and the majority of my LOMOportfolio.com was shot with it
- earlyadopter
well direct me if anyone hasflatlands - stereo pictures one or even stereographic-like optic camera - like the old german book - hans knuchel - flatlands (stereo pictures)

TV Barn | Finally, Edwards confirms (part of) Enquirer's story; MSM hops on board; but do they have stomach for more? - http://blogs.kansascity.com/tvbarn...
from Aaron Barnhart: "Now comes the tricky part. For two weeks following his "Yakety Sax Benny Hill chase" with National Enquirer reporters -- that brilliantly apt description came from Newsbusters, not me -- John Edwards clearly was a hunted man. And while much of the mainstream media sat on the sidelines (my employer McClatchy as usual chose to play the contrarian and did reports like this one and this one), the story was kept alive by dedicated bloggers and ..."

This story hasn't played out yet. It ends with Edwards' resignation.
- Chris Baskind
Resign from what? He doesn't currently hold any office and is already not going to the convention.
- Robert Seidman
RAP, that would mean leaving California! The horror! I hear that outside of california you can't buy marijuana in stores!
- Ňicķ
You can always visit, Nick, and there is life outside of California. There are even Pandas outside of California and Manatees, but I will concede that only the Manatess in California can create Family Guy episodes.
- RAPatton
Yeah, well, they live in Phoenix - plus legally we cannot move more than 5 miles from where we are now. Isn't shared custody great?
- Lisa Adams
Nick, a grown-up dinner involves going to nice places, having appetizers and dessert, and spending too much money. At least this one did!
- Lisa Adams
*ahem* You can buy it in stores in Europe.
