"Not sure which version of Server 2008 you're running, but if you have access to it, I'd highly recommend looking into Windows Home Server 2011 as an alternative. It's built on top of Server 2008R2 and has some great built-ins that would take much longer to configure with a "stock" Server 2008 install. Otherwise, look in to Hyper-V; you can use it to set up a server of assorted virtual machines."
