Direct from the BBC, this documenatary is amazing, and really captures the love of Albums as an Art Form. This IS the inspiration that lead us to create Wines That Rock. They are all in there: The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd... Hope you enjoy this is story of When Albums Ruled the World. Between the mid 1960s and the late 1970s, the long-playing record and the albums that graced its grooves changed popular music for ever. For the first time, musicians could escape the confines of the three-minute pop single and express themselves as never before across the expanded artistic canvas of the album. The LP allowed popular music become an art form - from the glorious artwork adorning gatefold sleeves, to the ideas and concepts that bound the songs together, to the unforgettable music itself. Built on stratospheric sales of albums, these were the years when the music industry exploded to become bigger than Hollywood. From pop to rock, from country to soul, from jazz to...

Check out this Guest Blog post from our Rolling Stones Contest Winner: Thank you again for the tickets. Below is my experience. I am a Stones fan from 1974. I heard " It's Only Rock and Roll" , that song got me hooked. When I was notified of my win of the two tickets to the Brooklyn show, I was thrilled. I have seen the Stones 15 times, but it was a dream of mine to see them in New York. When I first arrived at the Barclay Center, I had to go and find my seats. I could not believe how close I was to the stage. The stage was a basic set- up not the elaborate stage of past tours. I thought it was cool to see the band similar to their early days. The stage was shaped like the Stones logo. The upper portion was the lips and lower portion of the stage was a "cat walk" for Mick to strut around. (And he strutted) In between was a pit area for those to stand and watch the show. The Stones show began at 8:35 with a drum corp in gorilla masks banging on drums. Then the lights dimmed and on the...

Long warm season has allowed for gentle phonological ripening in balance with sugar accumulation. Lots of character without crazy stratosphere sugars. Quality has been phenomenal with balanced sugars and good acidity on the whites. Aromatics on the whites are full on pears, peaches, and fresh cut flowers. Reds are featuring ripe tannins, big color and less vegetation in Bordeaux varieties than in years past. Pinto Noir has shown more structure while retaining earth tones and delicate red fruits. Rhone varieties are still on the vine mostly but looking great with plenty of energy left in the vine canopy to finish out ripening. Zinfandels will be big and extracted with nice acidity to keep the style fresh. One of my favorite harvests to date. Mark Beaman - Winemaker Wines That Rock

Billboard has put together a panel of expers to review wines, and WTR got some great reviews. The Panel Michael Dorf, owner of City Winery & founder of the Knitting Factory Robert Haynes-Peterson, wine & spirits journalist (Beverage Media, Vegas Magazine, etc.) Matt Weiss, professional sommelier (formerly of BLT Prime) Bill Werde, Billboard's editorial director Tasting Panel Had this to say about Grateful Dead Red Wine Blend: "As soon as you stick your nose in the glass, you definitely get a note that this is a serious wine." A panel favorite. Definitely not just for your Deadhead uncle. Check out this review!

Reggae artist Matisyahu made an appearancelast night at the Rolling Stone-sponsored event at the Park Here pop-up at 201 Mulberry (aka OpenHouse Gallery). Matisyahu made an appearance in a Rolling Stone-sponsored event at the Park Here pop-up at 201 Mulberry (aka OpenHouse Gallery). A few hours before he kicked off the New York leg of his tour in Williamsburg, Matisyahu along side 2 band members who broke into some hypnotic dub rythems. Freestyling and beatboxing intermittently, Matisyahu mixed in some of his trademark lyrics from older songs. A great set, short and sweet! Yeah, Matisyahu has indeed shaved off his trademark beard, but he sounded great and the croud loved every second of his performance. Respect due to Matisyahu! Join us again tonight as we will be sampling Wines That Rock and throwing down some dub tracks of our own! 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Tonight.
