Billboard has put together a panel of expers to review wines, and WTR got some great reviews. The Panel Michael Dorf, owner of City Winery & founder of the Knitting Factory Robert Haynes-Peterson, wine & spirits journalist (Beverage Media, Vegas Magazine, etc.) Matt Weiss, professional sommelier (formerly of BLT Prime) Bill Werde, Billboard's editorial director Tasting Panel Had this to say about Grateful Dead Red Wine Blend: "As soon as you stick your nose in the glass, you definitely get a note that this is a serious wine." A panel favorite. Definitely not just for your Deadhead uncle. Check out this review!

Reggae artist Matisyahu made an appearancelast night at the Rolling Stone-sponsored event at the Park Here pop-up at 201 Mulberry (aka OpenHouse Gallery). Matisyahu made an appearance in a Rolling Stone-sponsored event at the Park Here pop-up at 201 Mulberry (aka OpenHouse Gallery). A few hours before he kicked off the New York leg of his tour in Williamsburg, Matisyahu along side 2 band members who broke into some hypnotic dub rythems. Freestyling and beatboxing intermittently, Matisyahu mixed in some of his trademark lyrics from older songs. A great set, short and sweet! Yeah, Matisyahu has indeed shaved off his trademark beard, but he sounded great and the croud loved every second of his performance. Respect due to Matisyahu! Join us again tonight as we will be sampling Wines That Rock and throwing down some dub tracks of our own! 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Tonight.

The study shows that people who drink wine while listening to music perceive the wine to have the same taste characteristics of the particular artist. The research published in the British Journal of Psychology found that for the best earthy and full-bodied Merlot taste experience, drinkers should try listening to Tom Jones. Or to add a little zing to a glass of Pinot Grigio pull out the latest Lady Gaga album. We LOVE it! Check out this article from the Telegraph.

Here we grow again! The entire crew at Wines That Rock is beyond excited to announce our latest Rock 'n Roll themed wine - The Grateful Dead – Steal Your Face- 2009 Red Wine Blend. Look at those beauties! Our newest addition to the line up is a pure mix of passion & music, combined in a way that could only be brought to you by Wines That Rock. Here are some of the details: We begin with the classic sounds of the Grateful Dead’s “Steal Your Face” and started building from there. Our award winning vineyards in Mendocino California are where the magic takes place; from the earth the grapes are nurtured in, to the packaging we use, every aspect is scrutinized; the quality of the fruit, the environmental impact and earth friendly production are paramount. Even our labels are printed on recycled paper and use soy-based ink. Nice mention in the San Francisco Chronicle about Wines That Rock! Listed in a Top Five List, Wines That Rock tasting room at the Mendocino Wine Company, Ukiah gets picked as one of 5 places for fans of rock 'n' roll music. Also named were: San Francisco Art Exchange Wines That Rock Tasting Room Phoenix Hotel, San Francisco Canter's Deli, Los Angeles Fender Center for the Performing Arts, Corona, Riverside County From San Francisco Chronicle: Rock culture begins with music, but we also feel it, see it, taste it, smell it (in our clothes, the morning after a concert, for example), and play it on our air guitars. From folk rock to surf guitar to death metal and beyond, rock evolves and twists off and just keeps rolling. So put another dime in the jukebox, baby, and rock out at these five places. Last Week, Wines That Rock crew hit the Brooklyn Bowl for a benefit concert organized by our friends over at Headcount. HeadCount is a great organization that registers voters at concerts and works with musicians to promote participation in democracy. The event was one of the final shows by legendary artist The Rads – otherwise known as the New Orleans Radiators. After 33 years, The Big Easy's premier jam band announced to ‘Fishheads’ it would end their epic run at this month's final performances. Final 3 shows (entitled ‘The Last Watusi‘) are scheduled for June 9, 10 & 11th at the world renowned Tipitinas in New Orleans. FROM HJ: The Rads have been a huge part of my world of music; from my first day at Tulane Campus, going to see the Radiators at Tipatinas, or getting ready for MOMS ball, The Radiators have always been pure fun. From everyone at Wines That Rock, we wish the Rads Bon Voyage! Photo provided by jaclynfidlerphotography.com- Thanks Jaclyn!
