1,800 people for a sold out fundraiser in Charlotte for the Regional AIDS Interfaith Network (RAIN). It was started with the above number and followed by the GAY BINGO OATH: " I solemnly swear to remember that I am here to raise money for the fight against AIDS, and to stop this horrible epidemic. I further swear that I realize Bingo is just a stupid game, but will keep playing Gay BINGO until this crisis is over!"

Random thought. The below just may ironically be about social media. It is a question I have long had: Does social media increase our social interaction or simply increase the perception of it while reinforcing via safety behind a computer screen the cementing of our preferred (internal) isolation of thoughts and beliefs. "And in the naked light I saw, Ten thousand people, maybe more. People talking without speaking, People hearing without listening,People writing songs, that voices never share. And no one dared, Disturb the sound of silence."

Accidental or not, the repercussions against Mr. Jones must be significant and severe as what he did will have long term damaging ripples in citizen trust for this and all local governmental agencies. This along with recent cases where government agencies or leaders actually sue to find out the identities of anonymous comments on blogs or news stories is an alarming trend toward punishing the citizen for speaking out. Since the consequences are so grave, I would hope the remedy would be more than an apology, and a conditional one at that too
