PLoS ONE: why not develop company to provide article level metrics for publishers. Great idea! #scio10
Well? Why not... - Peter Binfield from iPhone
Has API can have company :) - Deepak Singh
Everything we currently do (or would want to do) is via an Open API. Therefore, having a repository of every DOI in existence and serving API calls in 2 directions (one to 3rd party data owners and one back to the publishers for them to use) is easy. Creating a middle database to be a trusted central repository of this data should also be easy. Building a plug in for publishers to make use of that data on their sites should also be easy (all with my non-programmer hat on). The hard stuff is crunching the usage data on behalf of people, which could be the Freemium part of the business model. - Peter Binfield
@Peter - where can I find out more about your Open API? - Walter Jessen
We dont have one ourselves (yet) but all the API calls we make use of to get hold of the ALM data are documented in the file at: http://www.scienceonline2010.com/index... - Peter Binfield
Has company; not API yet! - f1000
What a brilliant idea. I wonder if anyone's thought of that yet... - Mr. Gunn
