"When we saw the pictures of the spiral in the Norwegian sky this morning, we immediately wrote it off as an impressively elaborate, funny-looking but well-executed hoax. You probably did too, even after reading Google Translated reports in Norwegian newspapers. Now, SpaceWeather.com, a trusted source run by NASA science writer Tony Phillips, says the “evidence is mounting” that the sky show was real. And not just real, but the product of a Russian missile launch. “A rocket motor spinning out of control could explain the spiral pattern, so this explanation seems plausible, although it has not yet been confirmed,” Phillips wrote A space animator even took the time to use a 3-D modeling program to show how the rocket motor could have made what seems a bizarrely regular shape. Although, the YouTube poster, unmannedspaceflight, made sure to note the rendering is “not an official answer.”"

I'm happy for him - but this show, inspiring as it is, creates some very unreal expectations for average people needing to lose fat and get healthy - we don't have someone making our meals as healthy as possible nor the free time to exercise 3-6 hours a day - yet, we can get there, too, but it takes longer than 7 months

Rochelle, it depends on age and genetics - some people do have very elastic skin that shrinks as they do, if it isn't too fast, others do need surgery to tighten it up

Lindsay had tons of loose skin when she lost a lot of weight years ago. Surgery is just too damned expensive (and obviously not covered by any insurance).

Yeah, when I saw the before picture I thought some of them didn't need to lose anything, but it's their body - their decision. It could be that they "lost" it by just toning up and putting it someplace else. There are plenty of Americans who are slim but not fit (which is part of the reason I hate the assumption that fat is not fit. I have known some fat people who work out a helluva lot more than some thin people I know and could whip ass in a sprint).

If all you need to lose is 11lbs, then big whoop that you did it in 6 weeks. It doesn't make that much difference in your appearance or health if that's all you've got to lose. I've lost about 8 times more than that before and unfortunately have a lot more than 11lbs to lose again. Believe me, I know what a difference losing (and gaining) lots of weight really makes in your lifestyle,...

I'd have to look up the rest of the series to be sure, but I think it was just a story about a group of friends who decided to make a pact to lose weight together. I think talking about pretty average people instead of people who are seriously obese is actually a bit of a change. When I played football, I was 6'2" and 235 with a 35" waist. I'm hovering just under 40 right now. If I would just work out and eat better, I could probably get back to a 36 pretty easily.

JA, part of it is genetics, by nature I'm a skinny guy (about 160 lbs when I played soccer), small-boned and narrow hips - but I've been busting my ass for years to build muscle and stay lean, so I've put on about 40 lbs of muscle over a decade or so - at 42 yrs old, I'm more fit than I was at 18

On Fark, there was this one thread, that just kept growing and growing. On Fark, it was a single page per thread. And you could post images and gif inline. Well the thread wouldn't die, people just kept posting. I forget which one it was. Anyway, it got so monsterous, that few people going to read/post to it per day (which was only a handfull) accounted for 1/3 of the server load of the site. They eventually had to cull that thread.

Let us remember that it was the disciples (students) of Christ that were first called Christians. If you are not disciplining yourself to follow Christ, then the label is completely useless. With that - I think we need (as Christians) to start being able to say that someone is NOT a Christian if the values do not match up with Jesus'. A person can CALL themselves a vegetarian, but if I see them wolfing down a Harris Ranch Filet Mignon, I can say that they are NOT, in fact, a vegetarian.

I'd agree that Christianity probably hasn't made most of its followers better people. BUT the handful of guys I've met who truly, deeply came to understand Christ's teachings and rebuild their lives around them (in prison) are some of the most remarkable people I ever hope to meet. I'm still an atheist, but damn. "True" Christians, if that's what they're called, are really amazing people. (however I haven't met many!)

Author, if you will of those immutable laws (along with gravity, et al). He then looked at the myriad of religious texts that claimed to be "the way" and finally settled on the bible.
