This looks really good. My daughter joined Dizzywood a while back but she soon got bored with it, however this looks more fun and educational. Will check out the books on amazon.

Just got my first sale and the comission was around $21 - wow. The product I'm promoting is just $15, so I checked it and the item was something completly different. It seems the buyer went on browsing until he found something else and bought it.
Keyword advice? Hi. I found a good keyword but I am concerned that the traffic is in the research phase. Certainly they will be buying, but with the keywords I've found, searchers are at the point of doing research. Is that ok? Or should my focus be on "buy" type keywords. Thanks
Could you give us an example using keywords other than your own? I'm not clear what you mean by "the traffic is in the research phase" and "searchers are at the point of doing research"?

Something like "flat screen tv's" is general, but something like "Magnavox 19MF338B prices" is as if a narrowing down has occurred and a "buy" is more likely. I'm concerned that people may research for some time and perhaps specific "buying" searches put them on other sites...no commission for me. Think amazon link is only good for 24 hrs? Does that make sense?

Oh, I get you. I think you're right what you say about the keywords you've got. You can check commerciality a bit by looking at the OCR and the AWCTR. And you want to be looking for "long tail", ie not too general a term. It can be tough sometimes finding appropriate keywords, but my experience has been that suddenly I come across a load at once, so keep at it Mike.

But also you could have a situation where you could be offering as your affiliate product the *best kind of* flat screen tv. So peeps might still be researching what they want to buy, but you could point them towards the best. And it's your affiliate product on your site.
- Isha (Marysia)
You could also make your own product/report on "the best kind of" flat screen tv rather than an affiliate product. If you make a pdf report then they can download it to their computer and then refer back to it when they are ready to buy. The report can be straight forward and filled with your affiliate links, if you make it a pdf then your links will not be able to be over written., hope this helps. Wayne

Developing Wayne's idea further, why not do a podcast for iTunes download and charge a nominal fee (say $1). Something that is research based so they see you as an expert and will return to your site to buy when the time is right. Claim the title of expert until someone proves you are not - no-one will!

"If a person visits only one page on your blog and then goes away (using the 'back' button, shutting down the window or clicking through your affiliate link), Google will tell that this person stayed at your blog 0:00 minutes, even if she stayed there for a day (the same is true for the last page a visitor looks through on your blog). Google needs two clicks to evaluate time, so do not worry much about this number. People from search engines might find an answer and clicked away, while the SU tribe might look for entertainment and clicked through several pages on your blog. Track your affilate link click-throughs."

This link is for "International Publications - UK" at Amazon.com because there doesn't seem to be any listing for magazines at amazon.co.uk . Ed Dale's recommended way to look for ideas for niches. These are UK magazines that sell in the US but just the fact that they exist says something about the market, especially when sorted by "best selling"

"what should a teacher know about homeschooling, in their capacity as a professional?"

I think its much the same here in the UK, we have looked at homeschooling but there is not many resources freely available and I think there are a low percentage of people doing it. Maybe over time more people will see it as beneficial and as the demand for information grows, so will the supply.

From the page: "Let's do this once again for those companies who haven't been paying attention: the internet is global. Anyone can be your user, regardless of where they physically are. Hiding stuff from users based on their location is stupid, and it'll make your users hate you. Get it?"

Mike Adams has a great Podcast that I believe every parent should hear when it comes to ADHD and ADD. Sorry Wayne, I could not get the link in a comment to your post.

Sheryl, this is a real eye opener and very scary, thanks for sharing it, the more people realise what type of drugs are being pushed on our kids the more we can do about it.

Answer to your question: a child is most teachable when they have learned adequate behavior and interaction skills with both other children and adults. Therefore, I believe that the success of a child's education is heavily reliant on the parent/parents way before the teacher and the child meet.
Definitely the parents I think, how can you leave the future of your children in the hands of someone who is, to all intents and purpose, a stranger? The parents have the sole responsibility to ensure that their children are excelling in the way they want them to.
