"Updated: AT&T’s second quarter earnings were better than expected courtesy of a strong launch of Apple’s iPhone 3GS. In the second quarter, AT&T activated 2.4 million iPhones, up 29 percent from a year ago and up 31.8 percent from the first quarter. Meanwhile, AT&T churn fell to 1.09 percent — a record low for the company. It’s no wonder AT&T wants to keep its Apple exclusive going. Across the board, AT&T’s second quarter was better than estimates but down from a year ago. The company reported net income of $3.2 billion, or 54 cents a share, on revenue of $30.7 billion, down from $30.9 billion a year ago. Wall Street was expecting earnings of 51 cents a share on revenue of $30.6 billion. In a statement Thursday, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson said that the company is executing well and “work is under way” to deliver faster mobile broadband."

I second Plurk, sadly. The karma thing annoyed me. Too much pressure.

Jonathan - wow! Digg and Twitter? Have you replaced them, or just moved on?
- Veronica
@ Veronica - Reddit has replaced Digg for me. Just the comment threads alone on Reddit are awesome - thoughtful, witty, and interesting. As for Twitter that's been usurped by FF.

Uber.com I had high hopes for it, but things just didn't seem to work right and I never was really able to get into it.

"The little blue pill is being replaced by the big green melon" that made me spew tea across my desk! ROFLMAO
- PonziPirillo
I wonder if my wife read about this. There is half a watermelon in the fridge that was not there yesterday.
- JA Castillo
saw that on the news - problem is - it's the RIND you have to eat. You know, the gross green part? And no idea how much of it. Although apparently they're working on a genetically 'improved' watermelon with the chemical factor in the red part. :\

Perhaps has something to do with Microsoft opening up their doc specs?

- mike
mike: the new Adobe Reader coming out is dramatically faster.
- Robert Scoble
robert: phew! maybe i can venture back to using it after my tryst with foxit.

this has *nothing* to do with Microsoft... And this isn't really "news", it's just the ISO officialization of what we already knew since December: http://arstechnica.com/news...

It's a great document format, even though their own reader sucks, thank god for Apple's Preview.

Finally. The whole industry-standard status was kind of weird since everyone treated it like a standard for years now anyway
