Premier League: Tottenham comeback shatters Manchester City :)))))
"Tottenham staged a thrilling fightback to defeat Manchester City 3-1 at White Hart Lane and boost their hopes of a top-four finish. Samir Nasri opened the scoring in the fifth minute and City held their lead until deep into the second half, but a three-goal blitz turned the game on its head. Clint Dempsey netted the equaliser in the 75th minute and substitute Jermain Defoe quickly made it 2-1. Gareth Bale sealed the victory on his return from injury after 82 minutes as Spurs closed the gap on London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, and presented Manchester United with the chance to win the title if they can beat Aston Villa on Monday." - Eivind from Bookmarklet
In the words of @usasoccerguy: TIE COMPLETION WHISTLE! Whitespurs take the EPLvictory points as Clint Dempsey virtually single handedly out soccers the City SkyBlues. #epl - Eivind
In related news, Suarez equalized for Liverpool against Chelsea deep into overtime. He also bit a guy. - Eivind
That bite was just ridiculous. - Mark H
It's why the O_O emoticon was invented, I believe. I guess the old saying is true, when your only tool is a set of huge beaver teeth, everything starts to look like a log. - Eivind
And Strømsgodset won. This was a good weekend :) - Eivind
go Dempsey! - Surprisingly Monstrous

BBC Sport - Portsmouth: Supporters poised for takeover
"League One Portsmouth are on the verge of salvation after administrators of the club struck a late deal with Portpin for the sale of Fratton Park. A takeover by the Pompey Supporters' Trust can now be completed after the club spent 14 months in administration. [...] It means the fans' group can now go ahead with their purchase of Fratton Park and BDO can start the process of finally bringing the club out of administration." - Mark H from Bookmarklet

One solitary Udinese fan showed up in Genoa for his team’s match against Sampdoria | Dirty Tackle - Yahoo! Sports
"Udinese traveled to Genoa for its Serie A match against Sampdoria on Monday and one man showed up to support the team in the otherwise empty away end. Whether that man  (and no, he isn't Eddie Vedder) happened to be a local Udinese supporter or the only person who made the 600-mile round trip from Udine to follow his club isn't clear, but he was there and he was apparently the only one. His presence was such a delight to the home supporters that instead of abusing him as football fans tend to do with larger visiting crowds, they cheered him and he gave them a wave." - Jennifer Dittrich from Bookmarklet
that guy is my hero on several levels. - kendrak
Right? So much respect. I love that the Genoa fans recognized the greatness. Given how crap some supporters can be, it is cool to see something like this. - Jennifer Dittrich
I've got a lot of respect for Genoa fans - http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs... - kendrak
Well, yes, there is always that. - Jennifer Dittrich
Fans need to take control. - kendrak
His team won :) And, guys, they played Sampdoria, not the team Genoa :) - Eivind
Pft. Get all technical! ;) - Jennifer Dittrich
If you ever travel to that lovely city, I suspect they'll care! :D - Eivind

Soccer no excuse for outdoor sex, Italy court rules | Reuters - http://www.reuters.com/article...
"Italy's highest court on Wednesday rejected an appeal by a couple who said they should not have been convicted of obscene acts in public because they had sex outside while the rest of their town was inside watching a soccer match. The couple, then a 60-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, were caught having sex outside in southern Italy in 2006 while the national soccer team was playing in the World Cup soccer quarter-finals in Germany. Their defense at a previous trial was that they had timed their tryst under the stars so they would not offend anyone, because everyone else would be watching the game on television." - Jennifer Dittrich from Bookmarklet
Hahahahaha! I love that, actually. Most people look to go shopping or get good parking places when a big event is keeping everyone glued to the TV. That's creative thinking! ;-) - Spidra Webster
I hope to be doing that at 40ish. :D - Pixie
Heh. I hadn't noticed their ages. :-D - John (bird whisperer)
