@CorvusE Cthulhu HCE sounds like fun.
@kateri_t I just got back into some of GW lately...
@aeazel I think they had complaints about that and eventually just opened it up. But then I've not done much district hopping.
@aeazel GW d'ise
@aeazel GW doesn't have distinct servers for regions, I don't think. It has "districts" and anyone can use any district (and swap on the fly
@aeazel It still has the three regions, but I can jump to any of the other regions from the District drop down.
Not to sound overly emo or goth, but life right now is misery and pain. Bah humbug, y'all.
Now I have yelling at my bank to look forward to tomorrow.
Damn it, my account overdrafted and its charging me the fucking fees that I thought I fixed the last damn time. Overdraft protection my ass.
@gwarek D9 is a "video game" that asks for immersion and may be too diluted to experience on a plane.
(It's weird though, the blocks work at Facebook, but only sometimes work with Gwibber and worse it started picking up stuff from nowhere.)
I'm turning off Facebook reading in Gwibber for now. Something is broken with it. I doubt I'll miss it.
@dbanes As a Moonlight user and follower, I think the Linux support for Silverlight is great and I don't see it as a failure.
Sweet, Jungle Disk's new backup vault engine has cut the cloud impact of a chunk of my backup over half. (3.6 GB to ~1 GB!) What I expected.
Went to a seminar today. Didn't learn anything new exactly, but it was a nice excuse to get out of the house.
It's odd though, because it was the first dream in a while I can recall enjoying a park, rather than staffing one...
@deirdrakiai I've applied there a few times. It has lead me to wondering if I'm too old to offer to trench in the parks for a while...
I had a dream about an amusement park for the first time in what seems like months. I think it was significant of something, I don't know.
@fullbright Pandora Directive is easily the apex of the Tex Murphy series if you are going to pick just one.
@SpectreCollie I worked with it every day for years and eventually came to hate it even on small projects… I think PHP is broken. Full stop.
@Vanther @fullbright I'm not sure how big the market is, but I think there are people that want "dangerously smart" phones.
@SpectreCollie The language started out as a glorified template language and became bloated as hell and I think that reflects when using it.
@SpectreCollie I've always felt that PHP wants you to feel that way, but at the end of the day, oh the subtle bugs and worse architecture…
@SpectreCollie I always felt that I was writing the same code over and over, but always subtly wrong and entirely unreusable, in PHP.
@SpectreCollie I'm really happy with Python now, but I'd prefer web coding in Haskell, Erlang, Scheme, or Common Lisp before I'd use PHP.
I don't think many companies do a lot of hiring coming off a big vacation week, but I'd love to be surprised…
@michelmcbride I seriously doubt it... AJAX was an IE idea. Perhaps meant the migration from earlier Netscape/Mozilla to Firefox?
(I certainly hate PHP with a passion.)
Read some PHP apologetics just now left me scratching my head. After about 1000 words of pain, maybe it's time to consider a new language?
@TheAutumnalCity Guild Wars is my favorite massively single player game. Just upgraded my eons old account and finding new awesome even now.
