"He was threatened with execution, beaten and forced to make a false confession, but the oddest moment - and a frightening one he says - was when it became clear to him that the person who had the power of life or death over him, a member of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard, thought New Jersey was paradise on Earth. That's one of the things Newsweek reporter Maziar Bahari tells 60 Minutes correspondent Bob Simon in his first television interview since his release after 118 days in an Iranian prison."

"When Sarah Palin made her first trip to western Pennsylvania as GOP presidential candidate John McCain's fresh-faced running mate, the Arizona senator warned locals that she "doesn't let anyone tell her to sit down." Palin returned to Washington, Pa. on her own Saturday as a "Commonsense Conservative," a definition crafted on her own terms and in her own words in her best-selling memoir, "Going Rogue." "It's grass roots America; it's common sense," said Joy Koplinski, 62, a retiree from Pittsburgh who waited overnight in the parking lot of a Sam's Club warehouse store for Palin to autograph a copy of the book. "She's the female Ronald Reagan.""

To do so, Beck is styling himself as a political organizer. He says he will promote voter registration drives and sponsor a series of conventions across the country featuring conservative speakers, all leading up to a rally in Washington in August to coincide with the release of his book on conservative proposals for the country."

"Iran will begin large-scale air defense war games Sunday aimed at protecting its nuclear facilities from possible attack, a senior military commander said Saturday, reflecting the country's concern that Israel could make good on threats to strike militarily. The drill comes as a top clerical official renewed his threat to target "the heart of Tel Aviv" should Israel attack Iran. The five-day drill will involve Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard and the regular army and will cover 230,000 square miles — or about 600,000 square kilometers — of central, western and southern Iran, said air force Gen. Ahmad Mighani."

"CULT films, the critic Danny Peary wrote in his 1981 book “Cult Movies,” “are born in controversy” and elicit “a fiery passion in moviegoers that exists long after their initial releases.” By those measures David Fincher’s “Fight Club,” a movie that stirred vitriolic ire when it came out 10 years ago and today inspires obsessive, often worshipful scrutiny in both lowbrow and highbrow quarters, is surely the defining cult movie of our time."

I adore honesty and I like direct talk but one should not mix that with brutal speech. some people are mean in their comments and feeds. it hurts.

Why is it wasting your time for someone to not to reveal personal information? I don't discuss my health history with everyone I meet. I guess I'm now wasting your time by conversing with you?
- joey
not at all Joey, I did not mean that. what bothers me is that some time people approach you and show one side of them and suddenly with no reason, they tend to do unreasonable things. In this case, I think i have the right to know, if they do this often.
- Mycaptain
In that case I would just suggest not interacting with people who do unreasonable things or who treat you poorly often whether they have a mental illness or not. If, upon discovering that they have a mental illness, you choose to be more sympathetic or put up with more, then that's your choice. But I take issue with the idea that people with Bipolar Disorder need to announce to the world so that people know to stay away or treat them differently.
- joey
here is the point joey. how can I make that decision when I am not aware of it? and being in touch with some one who does sudden unreasonable things is hard, and it hurts. it turns out after some energy loss and bad experience, I have to break some relation which adds to the hurt. I might have said this feed from anger point but if the honesty comes first, its better for the people and others around as well.
- Mycaptain
All I'm saying is that actions are separate from a diagnosis. Actions that are painful do add to the hurt and you should be able to cut off contact with someone that hurts you over and over because mental illness on their part or not, you need to be able to take care of yourself. I just took issue with the concept of the mentally ill 'wasting your time' is all. I get what you're saying now.
- joey
you are right and I agree. the "wasting time" part was too much, I just wrote it to let go of the pressure I had.
