I hate to see it happen, but I'm afraid NASA will be on the chopping block in the months ahead. Probably some shadow of itself will remain, but so many of their planned projects will be shit canned I'm thinking. :-(
For American news consumers, Hayes’ show is a terrific, better-late-than-never development. But the fact that “Up” is groundbreaking is also something of a sad commentary on the larger media.
— "The Occupy movement was started, to no small extent, by disappointed Obama activists of the community organizing stripe. The community they are organizing is the unemployed. They are in fact a conservative movement: purging the demonstrating community of anarchists, communists, marxists, and other assorted left wing grinding groups." — While many of the organizers may be disallusioned Obama activists of old, most influential activists have been anarchists, i.e David Graeber. So I disagree with Newberry's take here concerning the movement is purposely purging the movement of non-mainstreamable participants. I'm not saying that it won't happen if the movement is allowed to be co-opted by any of our mainstream parties, but for the moment and hopefully it continues, all the people I have spoken to who are participating remain true to the consensus participatory decision making by the general assemblies of each occupation.
