Writing a type-of-file ontology to describe the files where people store their results. Using biogang.org as xml:base.
alot of this kind of stuff is either in Information Artifact ontology, or should be in it - Frank
Thank you Frank ! That's what I was looking for a few days! http://twitter.com/yokofak... - Pierre
ah, sorry, missed that first request. If a term is not there you can request that it be included - Frank
No problem Frank. I'm not sure I'm going to find here everything I want but it gives me some ideas for a preliminary draft. Moreover I will create another ontology to describe the columns of a file (eg. this column contains a chromosome name, this column is a rs###). This would help a robot to find some information in a set of annotated files. - Pierre
or just join this ontology effort - no point re-inventing the wheel :) - Frank
Do you think so ? I'm feeling small among those people :-) and I've not a definitive idea of what I'm going to do - Pierre
does not matter, its an open project. If you need a term, there will probably be some discussion on what it means and then if its suitable it will be added - Frank
OK, my request to join has just been accepted. Thank you again for the suggestion Frank. - Pierre
I hope it turns out to be useful and mutally beneifical - Frank
Is an ontology the appropriate solution? http://tinyurl.com/7z8lz - Chris Lasher
@Chris: I need an Ontology or whatever is an arborescence , and RDFS is a straightforward way to build this. At the end, I want to find the columns containing "SNP" or "microsattelite" if I ask a program "I want all the files with a columns containing a 'Genetic Marker' " - Pierre
