Let's say you work for an electronics retailer. You check your email and find a notice telling you not to shop at the store on Friday morning. They want customers to have first dibs at the products. Does this annoy you?
Would you think that perhaps the money the retailer pays you isn't as good as 'civilian' money?

would it be fair if Employee Discounts don't apply on Friday?

Problem is that you as an employee may get a special price, that a regular customer would pay full retail, plus while there may buy more then you. Reason is to get the customer to pay the money there and for you to work. You can buy from the next shipment before xmas. Thats if I was a manager... but I'm not, so do what you want.
