Loving me some Jetty auto-deploy. That's slick.
Err yes. I thought Jetty didn't support auto-deploy. Do you have a link? - Nick Dimiduk

WORKING AS INTENDED. - Jordan Hofker
(There is a way to do it, but it involves some sort of wizardry). - Jordan Hofker
I know it is as intended, but that's why it's even worse! MDI is not very nice when you have multiple monitors. My favorite part is how they fake you out by putting two separate windows in the taskbar. - Zach

Something I would not have predicted: users caring vehemently about CSS print stylesheets.
Print stylesheets are the best thing ever for online commerce. - Stolee
Perhaps that was a bit of an overstatement. I can imagine HTTPS being slightly more important. - Stolee
Normal non-enterprise people still print stuff? - Zach

At work they added an alert box to Lotus Notes that says: "You are about to Reply to All, are you sure?" Ugh, bad.
Every single time? There has to be a way to disable that... - Jordan Hofker
The people that are going to do it wrong will just click "Yes" anyway. :-( They need to make them solve a math problem or code something before doing it instead. - Jordan Hofker
Maybe there is a way to disable it, but hell if I'm going to search through the bowels of Lotus Notes to find it. Prompts are useless at preventing users from doing something. Math problems are a bit better, but still not very good, they're just distracting. - Zach

Did you ever stop to think why Twply needed your account information when there's search.twitter.com? Now they just sold all the data.

Twitter really needs an API key. I've sworn off any 3rd-party app or site that needs a real password. - LogEx
Beware - they are tied into http://www.tweetmanager.com as well (via http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/auction... and click www.twautor.com). - Renee Hendricks

To be fair, I saw the sale notice buried in one of the threads on FriendFeed about Twiply, figured it warranted a top-level post about it. - Mark Trapp
i saw a bunch of prominent tweeple tweet about this service earlier today, and i guess those endorsements triggered lots of others to sign-up without stopping to consider what was going on..."meme-think" at its worst. - .LAG liked that

Twitter should investigate, they can start with the Tweet stream from Twply. I'll keep my eye out for new "offers" in my gmail inbox. - B2B Specialist

Susanne BULLO - good catch on connecting Twply with TweetManager. FYI - TweetManager has a feature that lets you DM up to 1,000 people. - Mike Doeff
Yikes, going to change my password now. - Zach
Nope, sure didn't. Nothing in my Twitter stream is important enough for me to care. But yeah, they are shady. - Bwana ☠
Have any journalists/bloggers actually tried contacting them to get their viewpoint? - trextor
trextor: it's hard to contact a guy who doesn't have contact information. The only identifiable information is on the whois record for Twply.com, which may or may not actually correspond to an actual person. That being said, if you look at Twply's Twitter account or the comment it left on http://scobleizer.com, the person running Twply doesn't think it's done anything wrong, at least... more... - Mark Trapp
@mark, i did verify that the whois information is real after I posted about this situation here: http://helloform.com/blog... - Fred Oliveira
Just to clarify.. Did they sell all the data as well, or just the service? - Winston Teo
I bought FauxAuth.net with the intention of making an OAuth middleman so you COULD cut a site off if something like this happened. - Tom
OAuth FTW. - Chris Messina
Mike Doeff: Thanks. For those looking for contact info, since twply appears to be connected to twautor which is an aka for tweetmanager, you can find a contact person very quickly and easily for tweetmanager - "Bill McIntosh TweetManager.com Founder http://www.billmcintosh.com Follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/billmci..." - Renee Hendricks

CSS Qualified Selectors // ShaunInman.com - http://www.shauninman.com/archive...
What if we could just write: a < img { border: none; } That is a qualified selector. A qualified selector can only contain one <. The element immediately to the left of the < is the target of the selector, everything after is the qualifier. In this case, the style would only apply to anchors that contain an image. - Zach
@zach: your suggestion makes a lot of sense to me - .LAG liked that

Netflix! You are rocking the instant queue selection! Thinking about buying a Roku now.
Or wait until November if you have a 360 (http://gizmodo.com/5025001...) - Jordan Hofker
Or if you have a computer with Media Center, you can stream from that right now! - Ryan Versaw
I don't have either, but a Roku is only $99. Don't you have to have the subscription with 360? - Zach
Yes. Playing games online is still fun, too. Or you can do what Versaw said, which only requires the Netflix subscription. - Jordan Hofker

You need Ultramon so that the taskbar extends to the second monitor. - Alan Le
I use IE and Firefox. If I need something quick, like looking at Friendfeed for a bit, I'll load up IE. If I'm in for the long haul, using random web apps that are optimized for Firefox, then I'll start it up. Alan, is Ultramon better on 64-bit Vista yet? It crashed all the time before. - Jordan Hofker
ahh, I only used Vista x64 for a week or so and went back to 32-bit because some games didn't work so I don't know. - Alan Le

Anybody here good with jquery and such? I'm working on a free project, and I'm stumped.

Thanks Jordan. It's down to either doing it in jquery, or having someone make up some Flash (which I also can't do hahah) - Bradley McSpinn

I've got jquery, thickbox and the CSS loaded. For whatever reason, the link that I'm trying to call up is just popping up in the same window, instead of a 300x300 box. http://208.101.28.218/... - It's the Monday link that I'm talking about. - Bradley McSpinn

Brad, fix your scripts' source path. path-to-file/jquery.js hehe - Hao Chen
Ahah. I'm not seeing that at all. For me, it just pops up the new page. So chances are, it's just a matter of the /path to script being incorrect? - Bradley McSpinn
