Well, I saw the the original when I was a wee young lad. It sucked then. Mainly due to shitty special effects and a non-scary robot. Hopefully the new one will not suck as much. What's sad is that I'll go see it either way....the studio bosses control me.....there is nothing I can do.....resistance is futile....

This is one of my favorite science fiction movies. It's creepy, atmospheric, and has, to me, a scene of violence so disturbing that, to this day, I still get anxious when its scene comes up. My first run through college I was a music major and I practically lived in the recording studio at school and then later on at several professional studios (a story for another time)...anyway the curriculum i was in was based on Mr. Paul's and his wife's multitrack recording techniques and innovations. I consider myself very fortunate to have seen Les Paul live on several occasions. His death is a huge blow to the industry. RIP Les Paul.

I don't know if they used cod, they used whatever they caught out in the ocean. I loved going down the Rosarita Beach and camping out with my Mexican neighbors. They'd also catch fresh lobster, split it in half and just throw it on the grill with fresh tortillas and virgin margaritas (hey, I was twelve).

Ah, the LJS tacos... I haven't been brave enough to try them. Come to think of it, I haven't been brave enough to eat at a LJS in years. My kids used to love those little crispy bits of extra batter.

OK, I see the problem here... Traditional fish tacos are NOT made with a crunchy shell. They are usually made with 2 flimsy corn tortillas. Flour can be substituted, but only for pansies. The other ingredients besides the blackened or fried fish are usually cabbage or lettuce and a spicy tartar sauce or salsa and lime juice. That's it. Does it sound better now?

Honestly, yes it does. The hybrid of the two foods though just sounds so bizarre. But I'm willing to try anything. The Long John Silver commercial just sort of turns me off.

The LJS fish tacos are an abomination and should be outlawed. Real fish tacos = finely chopped grilled white fish of choice with chopped onions, loads of cilantro (at least, in my world), and lime juice on corn tortillas. Quite the tasty (and now I want some!)
