dixit Bruce: "it's the most exciting thing happening in the contemporary tech scene" - Tom Himpe
Need the AR tech community to merge with the ARG community, then sparks will fly. - Graham Sergeant
Not so keen on people running around cities with the phone in front of them - playing games/ARGs. I'd like to see a more civil, tempered behavior with this tech. It's a lazy tech; the gesture of shielding the sun from your eyes as you sip a cocktail is the optimised posture for AR. - zeroinfluencer
A Brucey Bonus, so to speak. http://www.youtube.com/watch... - zeroinfluencer
Please. We're talking discreet optical projection... and gameplaying is about decision making and feedback loops, not running around cities. - Graham Sergeant
When you put ARGs and AR together, I bet you'll get a swarm of pervasive gamers. With Balloons. There will be shrieking. - zeroinfluencer
That's innovators for you... just wait for the early adopters to stroll in to town, cooly commanding virtual armies from the vantage point of the town hall roof. - Graham Sergeant
... stalking kids with balloons. I raise my ever-so-dry Martini to that. - zeroinfluencer
Game playing is the all consuming emergent super category of all ideologies, culture and technology in the 21st Century... AR can not not become a game. - Graham Sergeant
In fact - that's going into a project. Pervasive Gamer Stalkers. http://www.youtube.com/watch... - zeroinfluencer
It's a question of when to look through the keyhole... - zeroinfluencer
AR tends to make me think about the short story Exactitude in Science - you know, the one about the map that fits exactly over the real. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... - James Tindall
The map is not the territory but you can no longer tell the difference. - Graham Sergeant
and AR might reveal the frayed edges of the real - James Tindall
If AR can extract rather than add, we'll see the world according to interests. - zeroinfluencer
RFID will be at the heart of it and everything will be streaming data. Slice accordingly. - Graham Sergeant
In that Empire, the Art of Cartography attained such Perfection that the map of a single Province occupied the entirety of a City, and the map of the Empire, the entirety of a Province. In time, those Unconscionable Maps no longer satisfied, and the Cartographers Guilds struck a Map of the Empire whose size was that of the Empire, and which coincided point for point with it. The following Generations, who were not so fond of the Study of Cartography as their Forebears had been, saw that that vast Map was Useless, and not without some Pitilessness was it, that they delivered it up to the Inclemencies of Sun and Winters. In the Deserts of the West, still today, there are Tattered Ruins of that Map, inhabited by Animals and Beggars; in all the Land there is no other Relic of the Disciplines of Geography. - James Tindall
